NEMT services provide door-to-door transportation, which is especially beneficial for individuals with mobility issues or medical conditions. It eliminates the need for navigating public transportation systems or finding parking spots.
Relying on others for transportation means individuals are dependent on their availability and willingness to provide a ride. If the person they rely on has a conflicting schedule or is unable to assist, it can result in missed appointments.
Although individuals may have a car, certain car trouble, medical conditions or treatments may temporarily restrict their ability to drive. In such cases, they may opt for NEMT to ensure they have transportation to medical appointments while they are unable to drive themselves
